Fans, Friends and Family,
Thank you for your support of our Chris & Devon Aitken “An Excellent Night” Album Release Concert. You donated to our PinUp Campaign, your showed up at the concert, you bought _NO EMPTY WORDS_ CDs, 12″ LPs, and T-shirts. You Shared and Liked our Posts. We really had a good time. The concert was well-attended. We feel we played well. Seeing the audience smiling, moving, and closing eyes, really energized us.
To our out-of-town fans: We are finishing up shipping CDs, T-shirts and 12″ LPs to you. You could not make the gig, so you will eventually get the DVD of our live performance. Devon is chipping away at editing the footage from the two angles covered by our cameramen, Bruce MacKinnon and Rod Reimer.
Tony Douglass created and ran the slide show behind us at the concert. He also tweaked the sounds so that you could hear everything. After seeing/hearing the video footage we can attest he did a good job! Timmins Museum:NEC nicely handled setup and takedown, some ticket sales, and provided a better-than-average free finger food table. Thanks to Kevin McMahon at The Music Box for supplying equipment, and Greg Vintar for last-minute gear maintenance and consulting. Thanks to Anthony Aitken (brother Tony; Uncle Tony) for your early and enthusiastic support and business & marketing advice, Jonathan Aitken (brother Jonathan; Uncle Jonny) for accommodating my unreasonable design requests and timelines, PinUp Campaigns for your professionalism and personal touch, Jasmine Chenier for design work, Bruce MacKinnon and Rod Reimer for the excellent video footage, and Alfie’s Cigar Store/Dailey’s Your Independent Grocer/The Music Box/Shoppers Drug Mart (Algonquin & Rea)/ Unashamed Christian for ticket sales.
We had a fan ask if this will be a yearly event. Though I doubt we can crank out a new album every year, we’ll certainly mull over a yearly event. In the meantime, we’ll keep you posted about performances. There may be another gig coming up sooner than you think…
